About

Why we're called
44 seconds.

Because that's roughly how long you have before an enquiry goes cold, a customer gives up, or a decision gets deferred to "later" — which usually means never. Speed is the whole advantage. Everything we build exists to close that gap.

The idea

We got tired of AI being sold as a feature.

The market is full of vendors selling a single capability — a chatbot, a call agent, a copywriting tool — and calling it transformation. Meanwhile the actual cost sits somewhere else entirely: in the handoffs, the re-keying, the chasing, the waiting.

44seconds.ai exists to treat AI as an operating layer rather than a product. We look at a whole business function, find where value leaks out of it, and build the autonomous systems that plug the gap. Sometimes that includes a voice agent. Often the biggest win is somewhere far less glamorous — the invoice queue, the quote turnaround, the exception list nobody owns.

We're deliberately blunt about what won't work. If an automation can't clear its own cost inside a reasonable window, we'd rather tell you at the audit stage than take the build fee.

Not a reseller we build
Not model-loyal best tool wins
Not day-rate outcome-priced
Not a black box you own it
Not headcount removal capacity gain
Not a 12-month programme weeks
How we work

Six principles we don't bend on.

These aren't values on a wall. They're the reasons projects either work or quietly die.

01

Start with the number

Before anything is built we agree the metric — hours, conversion rate, cycle time, cost per case. If we can't name it, we don't start.

02

Ship in weeks, not quarters

Long discovery phases are usually a way of deferring risk. We'd rather put something small into real conditions and learn from it.

03

Human-in-the-loop first

Everything ships with approval gates on. You choose, deliberately and with evidence, where to remove them.

04

Your stack, your data

We build into what you already run. Data stays in your tenancy where it can, and every action is logged, attributable and reversible.

05

Model-agnostic, always

We have no loyalty to a vendor. The right model for a task changes every few months, and your system should be able to change with it.

06

Say no more often

Plenty of processes shouldn't be automated — they should be deleted or redesigned. We'll say so, even when it shrinks the project.

10–500 employees sweet spot
High enquiry volume speed matters
Repetitive admin load hours to reclaim
Multiple disconnected systems integration gap
Growth outpacing headcount capacity ceiling
A leader who'll actually decide essential
Fit

Who we're a good fit for.

We do our best work with businesses that have real operational volume and a leadership team willing to change how something is done — not just bolt AI onto the existing mess.

We're a poor fit if you want a pilot to put in a board pack, a chatbot with no integration budget, or an AI strategy document nobody will implement. There are cheaper ways to get those.

Twenty minutes, one function,
an honest answer.

We'll tell you what's automatable, what it's costing you now, and whether it's worth doing. No deck required.
